A 35-year-old Limpopo brother-in-law has been arrested for allegedly raping a 15-year-old, younger sister of his girlfriend at their residence on Tuesday 30 April 2024 in Limpopo ( Tzaneen).
According to Limpopo Police Spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the child was staying with her sister and her husband at their residence. On Tuesday 30 April 2024, while sitting in the house, her brother-in-law called her to his bedroom.
Spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says that he forcefully undressed her in his bedroom, then undressed himself and raped her.
Malesela Ledwaba says that afterwards, he informed her not to tell anyone, to assist her in applying for a birth certificate and an identity card.
Ledwaba says that the 15-year-old, victim informed her mother about the incident when the suspect failed to assist her in applying for a birth certificate and identity card.
The suspect will appear before Nkowankowa Magistrate's court Tommorow, 10 June 2024, facing charges of rape.
Police investigations are continuing.
